Associate Professor Ajibesin, an IEEE STEM Champion and versatile academic scholar, holds two Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and has over 20 years of extensive experience. Currently serving as the Chair/HoD of Software Engineering at the School of IT & Computing (SITC) at the American University of Nigeria, he was the founding Interim Dean of the School of Engineering, the Interim Dean of the SITC, and the Director of the African Centre for ICT Innovation and Training. Already, he has served in various capacities at Simon Fraser University, Canada; University of Cape Town, South Africa; and Pan African University Institute for Basic Sciences, Technology & Innovation, Kenya, among other places. His expertise spans various domains, including teaching, research, leadership, industry collaboration, community engagement and development, and consulting. His research interests are diverse, covering data science, broadband networks, modeling and simulation, frontier analysis, and the applications of AI in fields like healthcare, education, gender equity, and social inclusion. His prolific body of work comprises numerous publications in prestigious peer-reviewed international conferences, journal articles, and books. Additionally, he has acquired patents for engineering products and secured copyrights for computing software, showcasing his commitment to innovation and intellectual contributions.
