About

As someone with a track record of research, academic and organizational exploits, I always aspire to teach, research and occupy a managerial position in an institution, where my outstanding management experience will be used effectively for the growth of the institution. Also, I always desire to use my wealth of experience in, teaching, fieldwork, creativity, inventions, mentorship, IT, entrepreneurship, program coordination, job development, human management, industrial and international academic research to make highly significant impacts in any organization work.

Currently, I am Assistant Professor where I have held several academic positions, including the Founding Interim Dean, School of Engineering, American University of Nigeria. I have taught in World-class Universities, including the University of Cape Town, South Africa, Simon Fraser University, Canada, and Pan African University, Institute for Basic Sciences Technology and Innovation (PAUSTI), Kenya. As a scholar and visionary leader, I have groomed many high-tech start-ups across a broad range of industries, including Wireless & Telecommunications, Automation, AI, ML, Data Science and IoT technology. I have overseen the research, designs, patents, and commercialized engineering products that have impacted millions of lives.

My academic prowess has been demonstrated through several publications in highly ascribed peer-reviewed international conferences, journal articles, book chapters, and books. In recognition of my contribution to academics, teaching, and research, I was a recipient of many awards, including the prestigious South African Extraordinary Skills in Electrical Engineering, Stallion Award, and Meritorious Service & Outstanding Dedication to the University’s Learning Community Award. I am a Fellow of the African Scientific Institute (ASI), Founding member, Academy of Computing Sciences (FMACS), IEEE STEM Ambassador & Founding Faculty Advisor – AUN-IEEE Student Chapter, Chairman, Board of Trustee, AJISAQ LTD., Distinguished NEF & Alumnus/Ambassador of prestigious AIMS, and Founding Editor-in-Chief, African Journal of Undergraduates & Researchers.

I earned a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Cape Town (UCT), South Africa, and another in Computer Science from Moddibo Adama University, Nigeria. Also, I earned a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from UCT. My first degree was in Computer Science where I graduated with First Class Honour from Olabisi Onabanjo University, after which I got a full-funded scholarship to study a specialised Postgraduate program at the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS) / Stellenbosch University (SU) in Cape Town, South Africa. I also a holder of many professional certificates. The following are other services and projects I have involved in, and the role played:

  • Consultant for the World Bank /YESSO: Coordinating the design Cloud-based data collection and cleaning (Data Scientist) on data of the poor and vulnerable households in Social Safety Net (SSN) intervention project.
  • Consultant for the Consultancy Service Unit, Modibbo Adama University (MAU): Lead the technical team that provides a digital platform solution for transactions and management.
  • Consultant for the Consultancy Service Unit, Modibbo Adama University (MAU): Lead the technical team that provides a digital platform solution for transactions and management.
  • Consultant for Engineering Global Technologies: on emerging technologies and their applications.
  • Consultant for SEBORE International Farms Limited: Lead the technical team that provides a digital platform solution for transaction, inventory, and vending system.
  • Sub-consultant for Adamawa State Agribusiness Support (ADAS) Programm: Lead the technical team that provides digital platform solutions to enhancement the IGR and a sustainable value chain.
  • Consultant for Adamawa State Internal Revenue Service (AIRS) – Lead the technical team that provides a digital platform solution for efficient ticketing and revenue collection.
  • Consultant for Teasy International Company Limited – Lead the technical team that provides a digital platform solution for efficient ticketing and revenue collection.
  • Consultant for Adamawa State Government – Lead the technical team that provides a digital platform solution for efficient revenue collection of fines during COVID-19.
  • Principal consultant for AJISAQ Limited – Lead the technical team that is solving indigenous problems using ingeniously created technology.
  • Mentor and facilitator for high-tech Start-ups: mentor on Engineering and IT high-tech start-ups. I have successfully mentored three start-ups that are participating in multi-billion naira projects.
  • Member: participated in multi-millions Dollars Grant provided by the South African Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), Department of Science & Technology (DST) in a joint project with University of Cape Town (UCT), Durban-based Internet Service Provider, and East Coast Access (ECA) project.

I started my academic career as a Lecturer at the Polyconsult, the Polytechnic Ibadan, Nigeria. After, I moved to became a Lab administrator, technical, research, and teaching assistant, at the University of Cape Town at different departments.
